For entrepreneurs, managing directors, and decision-makers
Mediation in the Workplace
As an entrepreneur, you work with us to resolve escalated conflicts in your company, so that appreciation and trust become possible again.
✓ Appreciation ✓ Trust ✓ Success
When conversations no longer change anything, and conflicts in the company escalate or freeze, this is often rooted in violations of the System Laws—for example, exclusion, lack of appreciation, injustice, or violations of rank and order. With mediation in the company based on the System Empowering method, we make this dynamic visible and resolve it, so that relief, recognition, and collaboration become possible again.
At the Hanseatic Institute, we have combined classic mediation techniques with System Empowering for over 28 years—a method that integrates System Laws, the PowerCode, and ancestral work. The result: conflict resolutions that are 3.5 to 19 times more cost-effective than without sustainable emotional clarification.
Experience the Following

And the Groundhog Day Keeps Repeating
- Decisions are blocked because individual participants no longer cooperate or act only tactically.
- Factions form, and even neutral topics are immediately charged with emotion.
- Key people withdraw, become cynical, or go into open resistance.
- Communication runs through third parties, more is interpreted than actually said, and trust noticeably declines.
- Small incidents are enough to trigger escalation, because old grievances and accusations are still lingering.
- Productivity suffers, projects stall, and interfaces become a permanent trouble spot.
Why escalated conflicts in the company cannot be resolved rationally
Escalated conflicts are about the foundation of how people work together—belonging, recognition, balance, and order. When this foundation is violated, communication quickly becomes harsh or tactical. Trust declines, withdrawal and attack alternate, and fear and anger arise.
As an entrepreneur, you are not only a decision-maker but also an emotional pacesetter. When pressure, old unresolved conflicts, or inner tension burden your foundation, leadership changes. Decisions become narrower or less clear, and conversations turn more quickly. Recognition, balance, and order fall out of alignment. This can intensify conflicts in the company.
The House Model by Dr. Bischop describes the root cause of conflict:
- The roof and walls represent the factual level and the relationship level—this is where classic conversations and negotiations come in.
- The foundation consists of the System Laws, with basic needs such as belonging, appreciation, balance, and order.
In a company, several systems are usually active at the same time: organization, leadership, team, ownership structure, and the entrepreneurial family. If the foundation is violated in one of these areas, conflict escalation and a downward spiral occur. This gives rise to factions, mistrust, and blockages.
Mediation with System Empowering: Resolving Conflicts at Their Root
We combine conflict resolution with System Empowering when classic conversation formats no longer work. We work with the System Laws, the House Model, the PowerCode, and the Genea Method to clarify the dynamic and restore the foundation.
Only once the foundation is stable do agreements emerge that truly hold up in everyday life.
Already in the first step—clarifying the assignment—we determine together with you whether mediation is the right starting point, or whether work should begin with the entrepreneur first. If inner drivers, fears, or internal blockages are significantly burdening your leadership and ability to handle conflict, entrepreneur coaching is the fastest lever.
A combination is often useful as well: conflicts between the parties involved are clarified through mediation, while you simultaneously strengthen your inner stability, primal trust, and leadership capacity.

Over 25 years of experience in mediation – founded on practice, not theory
The Hanseatic Institute has been supporting entrepreneurs, leadership teams, and entrepreneurial families in mediation since 1998. What began as coaching and mediation work became, through thousands of cases and continuous development of the method, what is today known as SystemEmpowering Mediation: an approach that does not stay on the surface, but resolves conflicts at their emotional root.
From 2003 onward, business succession was added as a dedicated focus area. Since then, we have supported both those handing over and those taking over family businesses through one of the most complex processes a company can go through: a generational change, in which family, business, and personal history are all in motion at the same time.
From this practice came three books by Dr. Dieter Bischop, documenting the method and its application:
Coaching and Leading with System describes how executives, coaches, and mediators use the System Laws to systematically achieve impact, why conflicts arise in the foundation, and how they can be permanently resolved there.
Systemic Mediation shows how emotionally escalated conflicts in families, teams, companies, and business successions can be resolved, and why classic mediation reaches its limits where System Laws have been violated.
Personal Development with System describes in detail the Genea Method: how transgenerational burdens, war dynamics, and family loyalties limit one's own ability to act, and how they can be resolved through internal Constellation Work. In mediation, this method becomes decisive when a conflict runs deeper than the current relationship, and a participant's inner strength must first be restored before genuine clarification becomes possible.
None of the three books is an academic work; rather, they are distilled practical experience from over a thousand accompanied cases and several hundred trained coaches and mediators.

How Mediation in the Company Works
Your path with us follows a clear structure while also being tailored to your situation as an entrepreneur.
1
Clarifying the assignment and setting the starting point
In a confidential conversation, we clarify with you:
- which participants are actually relevant and who needs to make the decision
- how SystemEmpowering works for resolving conflict
- whether mediation is the right starting point, or whether you should be strengthened first, because inner drivers, fears, or blockages are currently burdening your leadership and conversations
You receive a clear recommendation on how to proceed and on the framework.
2
Restoring the foundation
We resolve the System Law Violations so that the ability to communicate returns and mistrust, withdrawal, or attack subside. For this, we use the PowerCode and start from the point where things were still, chronologically speaking, good. This systematically dissolves the conflict escalations and the back-and-forth injuries.
3
Implementation and stabilization in everyday life
Based on the clarification, concrete agreements, role clarification, responsibilities, and communication rules emerge that can be implemented in everyday life.
By knowing and observing the System Laws, conflicts will occur less often, and you will have a method at hand to resolve violations immediately.
On request, we secure the implementation through follow-up appointments, so the solution does not fall back into old patterns after a short time.
The Result: Conflict Resolution in the Company and Collaboration Becomes Possible Again
After mediation, the conflict is resolved to the point that decisions become possible again and agreements hold up in everyday life.
In Your Company
- Conflicts between management, shareholders, the leadership team, key people, or teams are clarified at their root cause.
- Trust and reliability grow again, as factions, mistrust, and blockages decrease.
- Roles, responsibilities, and communication rules are agreed upon in a way that makes collaboration plannable.
For You as an Entrepreneur
- You regain leadership latitude, can be a role model, and receive appreciation and recognition.
- Conversations become clearer again, because pressure, fear, or anger no longer set the pace.
- If entrepreneur coaching was needed, you have built your inner stability and power so you can resolve conflicts with confidence.
For You Personally and Your Family
- You experience relief, because the conflict no longer affects your evenings, weekends, or relationships.
- Your mind becomes clearer, tension decreases, and you can be more present again.
- You can use your power and conflict resolution skills in your personal life as well.
Your Next Step
Don't Let Unresolved Conflicts Paralyze Your Company
Unresolved conflicts cost you time, leadership strength, and trust. If the root causes in the foundation remain unaddressed, mistrust, withdrawal, and power struggles will ultimately steer your company.
We conduct mediation with SystemEmpowering on-site in Hamburg and Kiel. If needed, we also support companies across locations and online.
Frequently Asked Questions About Mediation in the Company
Was kostet Mediation im Unternehmen?
